A Season Of Growth
Do not let your leaves “fall” during your growth and transformation as our lives are “full of trees and changing
leaves…” (Virginia Woolf)
Within this fall season of growth, many churches also incorporate fall festivals to not only promote growth within the church but in the community. On October 31 st , Red Oak UMC will be having its fall festival with the theme of “The Valley of Dry Bones”. This fall festival provides a safe way for families in the church and in the community to reconnect, grow, and engage with others. This also connects with Red Oak UMC’s vision to embrace the community and share God’s love to all through Word, Worship, and Witness.
Ultimately, no matter what season you are in, you can continuously grow and transform. Growth is mentioned throughout the Bible. Colossians 1:9-10 says, “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God”. In this scripture, Paul prays for continued spiritual growth, including knowledge of God, knowledge of His will, and wisdom. With gaining knowledge and wisdom, think about ways you can grow in this season of transformation and growth. Reflect on what benefits will you receive from transforming and growing. Imagine, how would others around you benefit from your growth and transformation?

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever
